Why learn Chinese?

Learning Chinese gives you access to one of the oldest and most dynamic cultures in the world. Our courses provide you with practical training in speaking, listening, reading and writing so that you can apply what you have learned directly, for example when traveling, studying or communicating with Chinese business partners.

As a language in China and in one of the most important economic areas in the world, Chinese also offers valuable advantages for your studies, research and career. You will strengthen your intercultural skills and broaden your personal and professional perspectives in the long term.

Chinese - Advanced level B1+ (3 ECTS)

Registration and deregistration

Registration for our Chinese courses in the summer semester takes place via unisono and is possible in the first and second enrolment phase:

Enrolment phase 1: February 16 - March 08, 2026
Enrolment phase 2: March 23 - April 05, 2026

If you are unable to attend a course after all, you can deregister from March 9 to 22, 2026 via unisono. After this date, please cancel your registration by e-mail to sprachenzentrum@spz.uni-siegen.de

Placement test

If you have not yet taken a Chinese course at the Language Center in the past two semesters, register for a Chinese course ("desired course") via unisono during the registration phases.
The desired course is selected on the basis of your personal assessment using the self-assessment grid
of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

If you have a valid proof or certificate of language proficiency, a placement test is not required.
