Prof. Dr. Tim Klucken is the new spokesperson for the "Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" section of the German Psychological Society (DGPs).

Tim Klucken, professor of clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Siegen, is taking on a key role in representing his field at the national level: Klucken was elected the new spokesperson for the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Section of the German Psychological Society (DGPs). With more than 1,200 members, the division is one of the largest within the DGPs. It represents the interests of research, teaching, and university education in clinical psychology and psychotherapy nationwide.

“I am very pleased by the trust placed in me through this election. The role of spokesperson is a responsibility that I accept with great respect and a strong sense of motivation. Especially at a time when mental health is increasingly becoming a focus of society and, at the same time, political decisions are influencing the framework conditions for psychotherapeutic care, a strong scientific voice is important,” says Prof. Dr. Tim Klucken.

The division’s core tasks include promoting scientific and practical-clinical exchange, advancing research, teaching, and university education, and transferring scientific findings into psychotherapeutic practice. In addition, the section contributes to health policy issues concerning prevention, rehabilitation, and psychotherapeutic care.

In his new role, Prof. Klucken will help shape the strategic development of the section and, together with the executive board, advocate for the interests of the field in research, teaching, and care.
