FIT for International Students

The project “Forging International Talents – FIT in Siegen” supports international students at the University of Siegen from the beginning of their studies through to their transition into the labour market. Through workshops, counselling and networking opportunities, FIT helps students develop academic, language and personal skills and facilitates their entry into the German labour market.

A central component of the programme is the Employability Pass, which makes acquired competencies visible and documents individual progress.

FIT for Your Future in Germany

Starting your studies in a new country while preparing for entry into the German labour market can be challenging.

The FIT project supports you throughout your entire journey – from initial orientation to personal and professional development and ultimately a successful career start. With tailored offers, FIT helps you develop your skills and build valuable networks at an early stage.

What we offer:

  • Welcome and Orientation:
Support in settling in Siegen, orientation at the university, and offers such as welcome events, buddy programmes and preparatory courses.
  • Well Being and Social integration:
Opportunities to meet other students and build networks, for example through events, regular meet-ups or the Student Living Room (see separate service tag).
  • Soft Skills and Employability:
Workshops to further develop personal and professional competencies, such as self-organisation, communication and intercultural skills.
  • Career and Networking:
Offers to prepare for the German labour market, including application training, insights into German business culture and networking events with companies.
  • Employability Pass:
Documentation of your participation in FIT activities. By collecting points, you can earn a certificate from the University of Siegen that verifies your acquired competencies.

How does it work?

Throughout your studies you can participate in workshops, events and offers from the different areas.

For each participation, you receive points in the Employability Pass. If you combine activities from all areas and collect enough points, you will receive an official certificate from the University of Siegen.

Participation in the programme is generally free of charge. You can find current events and dates hier.
