STARTING
The Student Admission, Registration, and German Language Training (STARTING) Department warmly welcomes prospective students and students from abroad. We offer German language courses at various levels to prepare students for a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at the University of Siegen. Here, you can get information on applying for a spot in a degree program and consult with the Uni-Start coordinator about our German language courses and academic offerings. You can register for a degree program, a doctoral program, or a German language course at the International Student Office.
Our Responsibilities
- Student Affairs for International Students
- Advising on Applications and College Admissions for Applicants with Foreign High School or College Degrees
- Admission to Degree Programs for International Students
- Enrollment, communication with health insurance providers, re-registration, leave of absence, change of degree program, and withdrawal
- Organization and implementation of preparatory German language courses (Levels B1 to C2)
- Administration of the “German Language Test for University Admission of International Applicants” (DSH)
- Preparatory studies for new immigrants
- Partnership network with German schools abroad – International Education Takes Root
