Bachelor's or Master's theses

If you are interested in writing your thesis at our professorship, we look forward to receiving your application by e-mail or in person. Places are allocated on the basis of both the number of applications received and the quality of the application/topic.

Application form

Your application must include the desired start date:

• Full contact details (incl. telephone number and email address)
• 1-2 page synopsis on the topic including a brief problem definition, objective, approach and rough outline (see guidelines on our homepage)
• Overview of previous academic achievements (issued by the examination office)

Prerequisites

• You are taking part in the "Exercise for the preparation of academic papers" in the semester in question. If you have already taken part in this exercise at our chair in a previous semester, participation is not compulsory, but nevertheless recommended. (Duration: 4 VL hours).
• You will complete our "Bachelor's/Master's thesis colloquium" in the semester in question. This is a course with a total of 3 dates for which attendance is compulsory. You can find out the dates for the current and upcoming semester in unisono and on our homepage. On each of these dates, you will present the current status of your thesis, discuss it with us/your fellow students, receive feedback and tips on how to proceed and can clarify any unanswered questions. You will receive instructions on how to prepare for the respective event in advance.
