In the two-part workshop “Artificial Intelligence and Literature Research,” we’ll show how generative AI tools can be used in a targeted and responsible manner for academic research.
In the first part (Fundamentals), we’ll introduce the core principles of generative AI. We’ll focus on both the opportunities and risks—such as those related to data protection, copyright, and bias—as well as criteria for a thoughtful and responsible approach to using AI-powered applications in academic studies.
In the second part (Advanced), the focus is on practical application: Participants will expand their knowledge of prompting, test various AI-supported research tools (including licensed offerings from the Siegen University Library), and develop a sound research strategy for their own topic at various stations.
Note: Participation in the introductory workshop is a prerequisite for attending the advanced workshop.
