General education in the subject of social pedagogy
General education in the subject of social pedagogy is assessed in a 2-hour written examination. There are 10 questions to be answered in the form of short statements. The questions must be answered sufficiently (grade 4.0). If you fail the exam, you can take it again the following year.
Literature is provided to prepare for the exam (see below). The literature is not provided, it must be obtained by the candidates themselves. The exam questions will be based on the literature provided.

Professional aptitude in the subject of social work (FHR)
Bachelor of Social Work degree program
The subject-specific aptitude in the subject of social pedagogy for the Bachelor of Social Work degree program is assessed in a 2-hour written exam. There will be 10 questions, which must be answered in the form of short statements. The written exam must be passed with a grade of "good" (grade 2.0) to demonstrate subject-specific aptitude.
To prepare for the exam, the literature is given (see below). The literature will not be provided, it must be obtained independently by the candidates. The exam questions will be based on the literature provided.

Professional qualification
At the University of Siegen, those qualified in vocational education and training without an Abitur or Fachabitur can apply for a place on the Bachelor's degree course in Social Work if they first successfully pass an entrance examination.

Application with professional qualification
The entrance examination consists of two assessments in a total of three subjects. These should be completed in May of each year if possible, so that subsequent participation in the regular application process (by July 15) is possible.
Registration takes place via the Examinations Office. We will be happy to advise you at the Examinations Office with all information on the selection of subjects and other requirements.
