Overview

The "DATEV driving license" course is aimed at both Bachelor's and Master's students at the University of Siegen who are interested in a practical application of their knowledge in the field of taxation. The DATEV software application is a tool with which, among other things, all company-relevant tax returns, tax registrations, annual financial statements and evaluations can be created.

 

Important

The course cannot be credited towards examinations. This course is therefore aimed at students who wish to expand their knowledge on a voluntary basis.

Attendance is compulsory. If you are absent from one of the dates, you will be excluded from the final examination. However, you may still attend the remaining lecture dates. We therefore ask you to check in advance whether you can attend all the dates.

Basics of financial accounting with DATEV Kanzlei Rechnungswesen using a sample case

  • Basics of the tax consultancy profession
  • Professional practice and DATEV software
    • Processing of current financial accounting including the necessary closing entries and preparation of the annual financial statements
    • Generating and "sending" advance VAT returns and VAT returns
    • Preparation of corporation and trade tax returns based on the posted business transactions
    • Analysis of the business evaluation
    • Preparation of income tax returns for the relevant shareholders
  • DATEV information systems
  • Audit of financial statements

Professional requirements

Basic knowledge of financial accounting, corporate taxes and annual financial statements

 

Course dates

The next course will take place in the winter semester 2026/2027. The exact dates will be announced in due course.

 

Issue of certificate

You will receive a certificate after successfully passing the exam
