Division 1.3 Procurement and Customs Affairs

The procurement and purchase of all goods and services (e.g., equipment, consulting, coaching, software, travel, bus trips) are subject to legal regulations. 

We assist you in complying with these requirements or handle the ordering process for orders of €3,000 or more (net).

Our Responsibilities

  • Awarding of contracts for goods and services exceeding €3,000 net (“Central Procurement”)

  • Support for procurement by the University of Siegen’s project companies (CUS-Nord/CUS-Süd/WANC)

  • Approval and oversight of all procurements from third countries (non-EU) regardless of the value of the goods (including amounts under €3,000 net, as well as for donations, free samples, etc.)

  • Responsible for handling all imports and exports for the entire university

  • Information and communication regarding customs matters

  • Procurement procedures below and above the EU threshold (current EU threshold: €216,000 net)

  • Procurement of major equipment in accordance with Art. 91b and Art. 143c of the German Federal Constitution

  • Management of central framework agreements

  • Conducting customs auctions
