Central first semester welcome
On Monday, October 13, 2025, the University of Siegen invites its new students to the central first semester welcome and market of opportunities in the Audimax. From 10 a.m., the "first-timers" can expect an informative program that will give them a first impression of university life and provide helpful orientation.
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese, Rector of the University, will welcome the first semester students. Jens Kamieth, Deputy Mayor of the City of Siegen, will present the many opportunities for student life in the city. Dr. Insa Deeken, Managing Director of Studierendenwerk Siegen, and representatives of the AStA (General Students' Committee) will also address the students.
A highlight of the program is the panel discussion, in which lecturers and students give personal insights into studying and everyday life at the University of Siegen and pass on helpful tips.
At the same time, the "Market of Opportunities" will take place in the foyer of the Audimax from 9 am to 12 pm. Here, new students can find out about student initiatives and the wide range of offers at the university.
