Do you want to study mathematics to become a teacher?

With a 3.500-year history, mathematics is one of the oldest sciences in the world and permeates almost all areas of everyday and professional life.

It is the special task of teachers to show children and young people the importance of mathematics and to generate learning processes that enable them to experience and to learn about mathematical relationships. The didactics of mathematics deals with questions of teaching and learning mathematics and includes mathematical, historical, pedagogical and practical school components.
At the University of Siegen, you can study mathematics for elementary school, Haupt-, Real und Gesamtschulen, Gymnasien and Berufskolleg.
As part of teacher training at the University of Siegen, research results are included, scientific findings are communicated and students are actively involved in mathematics didactic research. Through projects and cooperation with schools and non-school institutions, practical experience can be gained and developed at an early stage.
