Methods of empirical, educational and social research

Knowledge of research methods is essential in order to understand and criticize research results and to be able to conduct research yourself. In order to impart this knowledge, the Department of Methods of Empirical Educational and Social Research offers courses as part of the BA Social Work, the MA Education and Social Work
and the BA and MA Educational Science/Teaching Qualification
from introductory courses to our own applications of quantitative and qualitative methods. Our own research activities include - in addition to basic questions of methodology and methods - the subject areas of urban sociology, juvenile delinquency, addiction, media, migration and family.
