Employee festival: Turning the wheel together
The celebration took place on the recently opened LEOwiese, which provided the perfect setting in perfect weather.
"It's great to see how lively our campus is becoming. The LEOwiese offers the ideal place to come together, exchange ideas and simply have a good time together," said Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese at the opening. "My special thanks go to all employees who contribute to the success of our university every day." Head of Human Resources Benjamin Schwarzer also welcomed the employees and was delighted with the large turnout at the party.
Team "Ersatz-KKL" is faster than everyone else
Numerous employees from administration, technology, research and teaching took the opportunity to meet again and chat in a relaxed atmosphere. The Studierendenwerk provided food and drink, including sausages and Asian noodles, as well as burgers, matcha drinks and more. The party was also accompanied by music - and of course the traditional competition was not to be missed.
Under the motto "Team spirit at full speed - turning the wheel together", teams of three took on a special challenge: changing the wheels on a small racing car. The aim was to change the same wheel three times in the shortest possible time - precisely, quickly and with a great deal of dexterity.
Team "Ersatz-KKL" (Norman Thurow, Peter Flender, Patric Hensel) achieved this fastest with a masterly time of 00:50.45 seconds. Second place went to the "Pressure Legends" (Alexander Bald, Geralda Kurti and Katrin Stahl; 01:09.13), followed by the "Wasser-Straßen-BauSchraubern" (Frederik Scholz, Julian Hoppe, Jörg Wieland; 01:09.33). The team members were delighted to receive vouchers for the university store and fresh fruit baskets as prizes.
