Field Trip to Brighton & London 2026
History, Adventures, and Lots of Language
On the field trip to Brighton during the summer semester of 2026, organized by Selvi Demir and Keith Bliss, a group of 47 students set out to experience English culture. With a well-planned itinerary and plenty of suggestions on what to see and do, we left Siegen.
A week in Brighton and London provided us with more than one funny story to tell, more than one fun fact about the British aristocracy, and more than one conversation with locals. The itinerary took us to the Royal Pavilion, Petworth House, and Arundel Castle, offering us a variety of intriguing, interesting, and sometimes amusing insights into the history of British society and art. In addition to visiting Nyman Gardens, we went hiking to experience nature more closely.
Apart from these planned events, each person who attended has their own unique story to share about the various other activities and side adventures they pursued in between. We got to chat with locals, see different sights, and visit various culinary and cultural venues in Brighton and London. Some examples for me include the oldest pub in Brighton, the Lucky Voice Karaoke Bar, and the Zipline. And also, the Vaudeville Theatre, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London.
All of us got to experience English culture at its core. So, thank you, Selvi and Keith, for this amazing trip.
