IAS is hosting an IEEE PELS webinar on June 25, 2026
Based on the paper “RHINO-MAG: Exploring Data-Driven Recursive Magnetic Material Models” from the IEEE PELS MagNet Challenge 2025, we will present our modeling methodology and empirical findings during a webinar on June 25, 2026.
About the MagNet Challenge 2
This challenge addressed the problem of data-driven modeling of magnetic materials for power electronic converters in the transient time domain. The goal of the challenge was to create models that are as compact as possible and numerically easy to compute, yet capable of accurately reproducing the time-domain behavior of various materials, thereby improving converter modeling and, ultimately, design. The model developed in collaboration with the University of Paderborn, with 325 parameters and a normalized energy-related error of approximately 1%, prevailed over more than 30 competing international universities, earning first place in the “Performance” category for Siegen and Paderborn.
