A Conversation with Gisela Heffes: Ecocriticism, Poetry, and the Materiality of Loss

Writer, literary scholar, and pioneer of Latin American ecocriticism Gisela Heffes discusses the central themes of her poetry collection *El cero móvil de su boca / Auslöschungen*. In this interview, she reflects on the tension between the ecological crisis and hope, on writing from the perspective of motherhood, and on various forms of loss—from the consequences of climate change to mourning the loss of loved ones. She also offers insights into her writing process and reveals which historical figure she would have loved to sit down with for an Argentine asado.
