We mourn the passing of Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Günter Ließke, who died on June 19, 2026, in Siegen.
From the 1970s until his retirement in 1994, Prof. Ließke served as a professor of structural analysis and heavy-frame construction—with a particular focus on bridge and scaffolding construction—in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Siegen.

With his extensive technical knowledge, his dedication to research and teaching, and his deep commitment to engineering, he had a lasting impact on the development of structural engineering at the University of Siegen. His scholarly work and his contributions as a university professor influenced many generations of students and colleagues.
Even after his active tenure at the university, Prof. Ließke remained closely connected to our institution. Until the very end, he was an engaged and warm-hearted person who closely followed events at the university and developments in civil engineering. With his openness, friendliness, and keen mind, he enriched every encounter.
With the passing of Prof. Heinz Günter Ließke, we have lost a highly esteemed scholar, a dedicated university professor, and a beloved person. We will honor his memory.
