Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for Arndt G. Kirchhoff
The University of Siegen administration extends its warmest congratulations to Arndt G. Kirchhoff on being awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Minister President Hendrik Wüst presented the order during a ceremony at the State Chancellery in Düsseldorf. Sixteen particularly dedicated individuals were honored, including the long-standing member of the University of Siegen’s University Council. The award was presented on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In his laudatory remarks, Wüst described Kirchhoff as a “role model for the social market economy in action” and highlighted his wide-ranging commitment to business, education, science, and South Westphalia as a business hub.
“The University of Siegen has benefited for many years from the dedication and support of Arndt G. Kirchhoff. I am therefore very pleased that he is now receiving this special award and recognition, for which I extend my heartfelt congratulations to him on behalf of the entire university,” said Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.
Kirchhoff has been a member of the University of Siegen’s University Council since 2013 and served as its chair until 2023. In this role, he guided the university through its transformation into an interdisciplinary research university. To this day, the university continues to benefit from its close collaboration with Kirchhoff, his extensive network, and his outstanding expertise.
