SNIB2026: Germany’s Large-Scale Facility Science Communities Meet in Hamburg

SNIB2026 will bring together the German synchrotron, neutron, ion, and accelerator communities from 8–10 September 2026 in Hamburg for one of the largest interdisciplinary meetings in large-scale facility science. The conference is organized by the user committees KFS (Komitee Forschung mit Synchrotronstrahlung), KFN (Komitee Forschung mit Neutronen), KFSI (Komitee Forschung mit nuklearen Sonden und Ionenstrahlen), and KfB (Komitee für Beschleunigerphysik) in collaboration with DESY, European XFEL, Hereon, and the University of Hamburg.

The conference will feature plenary talks, thematic sessions, poster discussions, facility tours, and networking events covering topics from quantum materials and soft matter to AI-driven experiments, research data management, and future large-scale infrastructures such as PETRA IV and ESS. Researchers, students, and facility users are warmly invited to join the scientific exchange and connect with the international photon and neutron science community.
