Study orientation weeks - The engineering sciences introduce themselves

As part of the NRW-wide study orientation weeks, the engineering sciences at the University of Siegen will be presenting a compact one-day program on 29.01.2026. The aim is to give prospective students a realistic and practical insight into engineering degree programs and to highlight key content, ways of thinking and career prospects. The focus is on Mechanical Engineering, Business and Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as well as on the close link between mathematical and technical fundamentals and practical application.

The program begins from 9:15-10:00 a.m. with a session on the job market opportunities for engineering graduates. This will be followed from 10:15-11:45 a . m. by a lecture on Business and Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering and a trial lecture and lab tour on programmable logic controllers. From 12:15-13:45 the study of electrical engineering and computer science in Siegen as well as a trial lecture on fault tree analysis and reliability assessment of technical systems will be presented. The offer is supplemented by direct exchange with lecturers and thus provides a vivid impression of the study program and the diverse fields of application of engineering sciences.
