Karin Ofterdinger knows the University of Siegen like no other: She has worked in the secretariat for over 20 years and has been actively contributing her experience to the (University) Senate since 2019. As a committed member of the University Secretariat Network, she is particularly committed to greater visibility, exchange and support among female colleagues.

In an interview with Sabine Nitz from the Press Office at the University of Siegen, she talks about her career at the university, the challenges she faces in her day-to-day work - and why networking is so important for secretaries in particular. At the same time, she talks openly about structural issues such as working conditions and pay.
