Training successfully completed
Lisa Sophie Javed and Antonia Kiel successfully completed their 2.5-year training at the University of Siegen in January of this year. Both graduates will be taken on and will strengthen different areas of the university in the future.
Lisa Sophie Javed completed her training as an office management assistant and will be working in the secretariat of the German Department in Faculty I. During her training, she worked in numerous departments, including the Finance Department, Personnel Administration, the Secretariat, the Personnel Development and Organization Department and the Student Services Department. A particular highlight of her training period was a four-week stay abroad in Valencia, which further strengthened her professional and intercultural skills.
Antonia Kiel completed her training as an IT specialist for system integration and will be working at the Center for Information and Media Technology (ZIMT) in the future. Her training covered various departments at ZIMT, including applications, infrastructure, service and project management.
Chancellor Iris Litty, Head of Human Resources Benjamin Schwarzer, training officers Cathrin Wienkamp and Sarah Pieper and Dr. Steffen Büchner (ZIMT) congratulated them on their successful completion. "You have opened an important first door. Continue on this path," emphasized Klaus Langenstein, responsible for personnel development.
Vocational training at the University of Siegen not only offers young people a successful start to their careers, but also real prospects for the future. In August 2026, young people will once again begin their training at the University of Siegen in the professions of IT specialist (specializing in system integration) and media and information services specialist (specializing in library services). Planning is also underway for summer 2027: from the end of March 2026, apprenticeships will be advertised in the professions of media and information services specialist (library), IT specialist (system integration), industrial mechanic (precision engineering) and office management assistant.
