University of Siegen opens its doors to prospective students
Clarify all your questions about studying and get your first taste of the lecture hall: from 27 January to 4 February 2026, the University of Siegen is organizing the "Weeks of Study Orientation (WodStog)" and invites you to take part. The program is aimed at pupils who are looking for the right course of study. At "WodStog", the Central Student Advisory Service answers all questions about studying in Siegen, while the Schools present their respective degree programs. The aim is to provide young people with the best possible support in choosing the right course of study.
After a successful start last year, the information events for the individual degree programs will once again take place at the locations of the respective Schools and departments. This gives interested students the opportunity not only to find out about the degree courses, but also to explore the rooms, laboratories, lecture halls and campus life on site.
Wide range of information and advisory services
The study orientation weeks focus on different topics each day. On Tuesday, January 27, at 10:15 a.m., the Student Advisory Service will provide information on financing your studies and studying without an Abitur. On Wednesday, February 4, pupils can also find out about preliminary studies, stays abroad, language courses and academic work. The Central Student Advisory Service team is available at any time during the information days for personal discussions and individual questions about studying in Siegen.
From January 28 to February 4, the Schools will be presenting their degree programs at their respective locations - from mathematics and physics to engineering, business and law, architecture and chemistry to teaching, social work, linguistics and cultural studies as well as health and psychology. At the beginning, experts provide information about the opportunities on the job market in the respective subject areas - a valuable orientation for later career choices.
Trial lectures and taster courses
Many degree courses offer pupils the opportunity to take part in selected trial lectures to find out more about their future subject. In the subjects of civil engineering and architecture, there is also an intensive taster course from January 26 to February 5: students can take part in regular lectures, seminars and exercises to get a realistic impression of what to expect during their studies. All dates for the taster course can be found here.
Exemption from lessons for study orientation
Pupils can be exempted from lessons to take part in the study orientation weeks. The University of Siegen actively supports young people in their study orientation with this information offer. The complete program with all topics, dates and rooms can be found here.
