University of Siegen with strong results in CHE ranking
The University of Siegen once again achieved very good results in the CHE University Ranking 2026. It received top marks in particular for its support at the start of studies - four out of a total of five subjects evaluated made it into the top group: Business Administration (BWL), Business Information Systems, Business Law and Industrial Engineering. The University of Siegen was also able to impress in the area of research. The subject of Social Work was ranked in the top group for both third-party funding per professor and doctorates per professor.
In addition to the top rankings, the ranked subjects achieved good results in the midfield in numerous other categories. These include the international orientation of the economics subjects, contact with professional practice and various research indicators.
"We want to offer our students the best possible study conditions - from orientation at the start of their studies to individual support throughout their studies. The results of the CHE ranking show that we are on the right track here," says University Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.
The students' assessments are also positive in many areas. The results of the student survey are not presented in ranking groups in the CHE ranking, but in stars - a maximum of five stars can be achieved. The subject of Business Law received particularly good ratings here: the general study situation was rated with 4.4 stars, as was the range of courses. The support provided by lecturers (4.3 stars) and the organization of studies (4.3 stars) were also rated very positively.
Business Information Systems also achieved strong ratings. In particular, the organization of studies, support from lecturers, library facilities and study rooms were highlighted. In all business subjects, students rated the facilities very positively. The library facilities received very good ratings across all subjects.
The ranking shows potential for improvement in some subjects in terms of completing degrees in a reasonable amount of time. In the subjects of Social Work and Business and Industrial Engineering, there is also room for improvement in terms of international orientation.
