On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the state-wide warning day will take place. From 11:00 am, various warning devices will be triggered throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim of the trial alert is to raise public awareness, optimize warning processes and test the interaction of different systems.

This is the warning:

  • Sirens sound in Siegen and the surrounding area at 11 a.m.
  • Warning messages in the NINA apps and via cell broadcast to mobile devices
  • Warnings via radio, television and digital city information boards

Warning in the Uni Siegen app

The University of Siegen app is also included in the warning day. Users will receive a "Critical Alert" on a trial basis - comparable to NINA or KATWARN. If you would like to take part in the test, you should download the latest version of the Uni Siegen app from the Google Play Store
or in the App Store
install it.
