Alexander Thier is a media computer scientist with a B.Sc. in Online Media and an M.A. in Interactive Media Design from Furtwangen University. During his master’s studies, he contributed to the development of parts of the university website and completed his practical semester as a game designer at Gameforge.
As part of various academic and research projects, he worked on a range of interactive applications. In his master’s thesis, he developed a 3D web viewer for exploring complex 3D models, with a strong focus on user experience. The system was designed and used at the university as a submission platform for course-related work. Another key project was the design and implementation of a simulation involving multiple LLM agents to study
social dynamics. This work was presented and published as part of a Student Research Competition. Other projects include an AR-based interactive medieval town created in collaboration with a museum and a local municipality, as well as “Human Pong“, a body-based interactive installation developed during his studies.
Since 2025, he has been working as a research associate in the group of Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig. His work focuses on designing and developing intelligent, user-centered information and assistance systems for industrial and business environments. His main areas of interest include immersive technologies, game and web development, and AI-based systems, including embodied conversational agents.
