Vita
Having completed his studies in Business Information Systems and a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Siegen, Lukas Schröder returns in 2026 as a research associate to the Chair of Human-Centred Information Systems. Already during his studies, he gained research experience in projects in healthcare (Doc-2-Go) and vocational education (RegioQuest), while working in parallel as a management consultant and freelance lecturer.
From 2023 to 2026, he worked as a research associate at the FernUniversität in Hagen within the project Zukunftszentrum KI NRW, where he supported small and medium-sized enterprises as an advisory researcher on topics including generative AI, machine learning, and digital transformation. He now continues this work at the University of Siegen. In parallel, he remains involved at the FernUniversität in the project BAMBER, where he leads the accompanying research of an innovative digital education initiative in rural areas.
He is particularly passionate about the question of how AI and digital transformation are fundamentally reshaping educational processes - nwhether in vocational training, schools, or rural and industrially shaped regions such as Südwestfalen. His research approach combines Human-Computer Interaction, CSCW and Social Informatics with a consistently human-centred perspective on technology and society.
