Dr. Philip Weber is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Human-Centered Information Systems. His research is at the intersection of human-computer interaction and everyday digital technologies, with a particular focus on conversational agents, user experience design, gamification, no-code platforms and location-based systems.

In 2024, he received his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) with the dissertation "Designing ICT Around Food Practices in the Digital Age", in which he examined the design of digital technologies in the context of food practices.

Prior to this, he was a research assistant at the FernUniversität in Hagen from 2023, where he operationally managed the What2Study project for the development and use of LLM-based chatbots in study orientation and counseling as well as KulturXpand (since 2024), which deals with the digital expansion and mediation of cultural offerings.

Between 2019 and 2023, he already worked at the University of Siegen in the Cyber-Physical Systems research group and led the Rendezfood (2019-2021) and RegioQuest (2022-2023) research projects. While Rendezfood developed social, location-based and playful approaches for gastronomy, RegioQuest pursued the goal of improving the visibility of training and workplaces through playful and location-based concepts.

Previously, Philip Weber studied Human Computer Interaction at the University of Siegen (2016-2019) and Business Information Systems at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (2013-2016).
