Zhaoyang Wang M.Sc.

Zhaoyang Wang studied Business Mathematics (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne (2015–2023). During his studies, he developed VR and desktop applications in various programming languages. From 2020 to 2021, he worked as an intern and subsequently a technical employee at Bayer AG, where he developed applications for the evaluation and analysis of chemical experiments. Since 2022, he has been teaching mathematics and computer science to secondary school pupils and university students. In addition, he worked as a student research assistant at the university’s computing center and contributed to projects as well as to his master’s thesis in the field of data visualization in VR environments (2023).

From 2024 to 2026, Zhaoyang Wang was a research associate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig at the FernUniversität in Hagen in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. There, he worked on the research project “KAIROS,” which investigates how extended reality technologies (XR) can be used to promote citizen participation in urban planning processes. Since March 2026, he has continued his work on the project “KAIROS” at the Universität Siegen.
