Information about your graduation

Your studies are coming to an end: Here you will find information on your graduation documents, the transition from your Bachelor's  to Master's programme and de-registration.

Studierende

Certificate of expected graduation

As soon as you have been admitted to the B.A. thesis, you can obtain a certificate of your expected graduation from the Examination Office, which is required for Master's applications, for example. The grade is calculated from all available examination grades for the subjects (not the Studium Generale).

If you (additionally) require a transcript of records, you can generate this via unisono.

Transition from Bachelor to Master

You are completing your bachelor's degree and would like to continue directly with a master's degree:  all coursework must be completed by March 31 (winter semester graduation) or September 30 (summer semester graduation) at the latest. This also applies to your final thesis. It is therefore essential that you allow enough time. The Bachelor's degree must always be completed in the preceding semester.

In the case of admission to a Master's programme to conditions (missing Bachelor's degree), you must submit your Bachelor's certificate and Bachelor's diploma to the Registrar's Office and Examination Office by 31.05. (summer semester) or 30.11. (winter semester) at the latest.

Internal applicants do not have to submit their certificate and diploma later.

Completion of studies

As soon as the last credit points have been booked, you will receive a certificate from us by e-mail and postal service confirming that you have successfully completed your studies.

We will issue your graduation documents within 4 weeks and send them to the postal address saved in unisono. Therefore, always make sure to keep your address up to date. We will also inform you about the dispatch of your graduation documents by e-mail. Please enter your private e-mail address on the application for admission to the thesis so that we can contact you even after you have exmatriculated. The data will be treated confidentially and used exclusively for this purpose.

The graduation documents will be issued in German. Students of the M.A. Roads of Democracies and the B.A. European Business Communication will also receive them in English.

Final documents

Transfer to a different study programme / Exmatriculation

If you have any questions regarding de-registration or you would like to transfer to another study  programme, please contact the Registrar's Office. You can apply for de-registration or re-registration via unisono.

If you do not re-register for the next semester, you will be automatically de-registered at the end of the current semester.

After exmatriculation, you can download the exmatriculation documents via unisono.
