Construction and maintenance of transportation routes Teaching

Contemporary and future-oriented teaching is of great importance at the University of Siegen in order to meet the demands of a rapidly changing working world and society. The concept of good teaching at the University of Siegen is not only aimed at imparting subject-specific content, but also supports the promotion of skills and the development of critically thinking, responsible and socially committed members of society.

Practical relevance and hands-on experience are the focus of the Chair of Construction and Maintenance of Traffic Routes. Laboratory practicals and excursions make theoretical content tangible. Cooperation with engineering offices, the construction industry and the construction administration promotes practical relevance.

The basics of road construction technology with a focus on work preparation and the construction process as well as maintenance strategies for traffic routes are taught in the Bachelor's degree course. The current social challenges - climate change andCO2 emissions- are explored in greater depth in the Master's program. The focus here is on innovations, climate-resilient construction methods and the unsealing of traffic areas.
