Continuation of concept development for securing skilled workers for transport infrastructure in the civil engineering course at the University of Siegen (FaSiBI-f)

Academy funding program of the Federal Highway Research Institute

Project description

The project "Continuation of concept development to secure skilled workers for the traffic route infrastructure in the civil engineering course at the University of Siegen" (FaSiBI-f) was based on the project "Concept development to secure skilled workers for the traffic route infrastructure in the civil engineering course at the University of Siegen" (FaSiBI) and continued the findings developed there with regard to securing skilled workers in the civil engineering course at the University of Siegen.

As with the original project and building on it, the aim was to develop, pilot test and evaluate concepts to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the planning, construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure. These included the promotion of existing students and the target group-oriented acquisition of potential new students.

The focus shifted from the pilot introduction to making the measures permanent. The aim was to reapply the developed offers, adapt them if necessary and review their effectiveness. On this basis, optimization potentials were to be identified and the prerequisites for a possible permanent implementation of the support offers and measures in the acquisition of potential first-year students were to be created.
