Intelligent Internet of Things 3IoT

.

Project description

Industrial and Intelligent Internet of Things (3IoT) was planned as a joint project between Germany and the target country Iran for 12 months in 2022. IIoT is the use of intelligent sensors and actuators to enhance manufacturing and industrial processes and can provide the infrastructure for smart cities, smart manufacturing, etc. as well as the solution to several societal challenges. The Industrial Internet of Things has a significant impact on manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain management and is employed in many industries, including transportation, mining, oil and gas, food industry, ports, etc. The main purpose of this collaboration was to establish scientific and cultural communication and networking between the universities and non-university actors centering on the education of students with scientific and industrial skills required in local industries, as well as exchange students and young academics. The involved community in 3IoT strengthens the research and innovation in the field of IIoT for the mutual benefit of all parties. The proposal has been designed with a broad range of measures and activities ranging from preparation of the teaching modules in the domain of industrial and intelligent IoT, organization of scientific events, workshops, networking dialogues, and schools, mobilities and exchange of graduate students and academics to increase their competencies in the field of IoT corresponding to the local industries requirements. In the frame of 3IoT, two course modules (Cyber-physical Systems and Embedded Control Systems) from the University of Siegen (USI) side have been revised. Our Iranian partner, the University of Guilan (UG), has partially developed three course modules (Deep Learning on FPGA-Platforms, Industrial IoT, and Industrial/Applied Artificial Intelligence). The 3IoT provided an opportunity for valuable networking with peers at the partner university in the field of IoT.
