Re-X concrete

In the Re-X-Beton project, the "Recycling Hub Assistant" to be developed will create a digital solution that makes the life cycle of recycled building materials more transparent and facilitates their use in construction practice.

Re-X-Beton Brecher

Project description

The construction industry is one of the most resource-intensive sectors in Germany. By substituting primary aggregates with recycled (RC) aggregates, natural resources can be conserved and greenhouse gas emissions significantly reduced. To date, however, RC aggregates have only been used to a limited extent.

The aim of the RE-X-Beton research project is to measurably increase the acceptance and use of RC building materials in the construction industry. To this end, the players involved along the entire value chain - from demolition, processing and concrete production to planning and execution - are digitally networked with each other. At the same time, a reliable, consistent data basis for the materials used is being created, enabling a transparent, reliable exchange of information. To achieve this goal, RE-X-Beton is developing a digital, AI-supported assistance system for recycling in the concrete industry. This includes a user-friendly digital project folder that makes all relevant material data and decision-making processes transparent. In addition, an AI-supported interpretation of material information will evaluate the economic and sustainable reusability. A web-based assistance system will bring these subsystems together and enable optimized process handling with automatic documentation.
