On April 30, 2026, the University of Siegen joined the NRW-wide #sicherimDienst network. 
In doing so, it is further expanding its commitment to safe working and learning conditions and has become part of a network of over 850 organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The #sicherimDienst initiative is part of the state strategy “Greater Protection and Safety for Public Sector Employees.” The goal is to consistently counter violence, threats, and disrespect in everyday work life. Members gain access to practical prevention measures, forums for exchange, and proven best-practice examples.

The Campus Security Department—and in particular the Threat Management Team—was already a regular guest or speaker at relevant network events even before joining the network. As a result, the University of Siegen has been benefiting for several years now from effective collaboration among a wide variety of educational institutions and government agencies.
