JupyterHub NRW provides students, faculty, and researchers at the University of Siegen with a modern, cloud-based working environment for all common programming languages

 

The platform is operated centrally as part of the JupyterHub NRW initiative of the Digital University of North Rhine-Westphalia (DH.NRW).

FAQ

Employees and students can use the central JupyterHub instance with their university account and log in here:

Click the “University Login ” button and then select “University of Siegen.” The first time you log in, you must accept the privacy policy and terms of use to access the service.

JupyterHub NRW offers comprehensive support, including an FAQ and an email address for support requests: support@jupyterhub.nrw. There is also a comprehensive service available for submitting feedback and installing new packages.

An overview of the maximum computing resources and limits:
  • Storage space: 10 GB home directory (can be expanded by the support team if needed).
  • Computing power (CPU/RAM): Maximum of 16 vCPUs and 32 GB RAM per user.
  • Hardware: Nvidia A40 GPUs are available for particularly computationally intensive tasks (such as CUDA and rendering).

  • Cloud storage: Seamless integration with Sciebo (the campus cloud) for offloading larger datasets.
