Event announcement and booking in unisono
In the Department of Architecture, it is necessary to take all courses (compulsory and elective modules as well as designs) in unisono.
Course registration is released for students in unisono. During this time, lecturers can neither admit nor reject students.
Note: Every winter semester, the compulsory courses for BA and MA first-semester students have an extended registration period (until approx. mid-October). In first semester courses, places can therefore only be allocated after this period has expired.
Cancellation of events
Deregistration in unisono is only possible during the enrollment phases. In addition, this must be done by e-mail in the relevant teaching area.
Since there are always uncertainties when canceling courses, the following procedure must be observed in accordance with the department's resolution of 15.05.2019 and November 2021:
Every registration for a course with admission by the lecturer
obliges students to deregister if they do not attend. This applies to all courses
(except lectures) even if they could be repeated as often as desired. If
the student does not deregister, the coursework/examination will be graded with a 5.0 and this will be passed on to the Examinations Office.
- Deregistrationfor tutorials and elective courses mustbe made in writing (by email) to the teaching departmentwithin 3 weeks of
the start of the lecture period or for elective courses after the start of the elective course
andconfirmedby the department in writing (by email)
.
>> Deregistration from the course via unisono is not possible after the official
registration period. - Each semester, it is mandatory to register for the draft examination (BA 17-19 and MA 4-6) in unisono within a specified and published period (within 6 weeks of the start of the draft, listed on the examination schedule).
The end of the registration period is also the end of the withdrawal period,
after which participation is binding and the examination cannotbe returnedone week before
the examination date (FPO-B 2020, § 9 (5) and FPO-M 2020, § 9 (7). - The withdrawal from the draft must alsobe madein writing (by email) to the
teaching departmentwithin the deadlineand confirmed by them in writing (by email).
>> If a registration for the examination performance in unisono has already been made, this
must also be withdrawn by the student within the deadline. - In the case of a sick note for the submission/presentation day, the medical
certificatemustbe sent to the teaching department on the same day by e-mail.
The original certificate must be submitted to the teaching department within 3 working days.
>> In the case of a later submission/presentation of the draft, a
timely presentation date for crediting for admission to the final thesis
cannot be assumed.

Information on internships
Basic internship
The basic internship comprises four weeks of practical work on a construction site or in a craft business, which must be completed before the start of the course. The department's secretariat(sekretariat@architektur.uni-siegen.de) will be happy to answer any further questions you may have about the basic internship.
Please enclose evidence of any internships you have already completed with your application. A certificate from the employer/internship placement in which the dates and activities are listed is sufficient proof (no report needs to be written).
Exceptions
Training in a relevant profession is recognized as a basic internship, as is training as a draftsman. A degree from a technical secondary school specializing in construction is also recognized. In these cases, please submit the certificate to the department office.
Internship as part of the compulsory elective module
Objectives of the internship
Students can complete an internship as part of the compulsory elective module 2ARCHBA22 (FPO2020) or 2ARCHBA33 (FPO2024). The internship is intended to introduce students to professional activities through specific tasks and practical engineering-related work in offices or on practice-oriented projects. In particular, it should serve to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during previous studies and to reflect on and implement the experience gained during practical work. The student's work should be characterized by independence and shared responsibility.
