Stephanie Lunkewitz was born in 1977 in Köthen, Saxony-Anhalt, and grew up in a family of artists. Her grandparents were members of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR and illustrated more than 50 children’s books. Stephanie Lunkewitz received her degree in design from Burg Giebichenstein University and subsequently studied art history at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, as well as picture book writing and business at the University of California, Los Angeles. Stephanie Lunkewitz lives in Los Angeles with her three children and her husband.
