What does the student council actually do...

FSR GGLaBaMa stands for Fachschaftsrat für Geistes- und Gesellschaftswissenschaften im Bachelor, Master und auf Lehramt. The Fachschaftsrat (FSR) is the student representation of Interests at Faculty level, in our case all Humanities and Social Sciences degree programs in Faculty I and all Bachelor's and Master's teaching degrees. We represent the interests and concerns of students.

Our tasks:

  • organize events
  • plan the ESE (first semester introduction)
  • take care of problems and concerns with lecturers, courses, examination regulations, etc.
  • represent students in university committees
  • communicate important information to students

We meet once a week for the FSR meeting (can be attended in person or online). We look forward to seeing you!

We represent the interests and concerns of students in our subjects both internally (i.e. to students, faculty councils, the dean's office and lecturers) and externally (i.e. to the public).

This means that, first and foremost, your fellow students are waiting for you when you come to our office. We are not just any service provider, but try to achieve the best possible fairness for everyone.

We are the people to contact if you have problems with lecturers, your studies or anything else that happens at the individual subject or Schools level. Representatives from the FSR are involved in the creation of new study regulations, sit on appointment committees and organize the student Welcome Week (ESE).

Even though we are not a university party, we are by no means apolitical.

Any student can join us if they want to. Even if you can't work with us all the time, your help is important. Just come along to one of our meetings and have a look without obligation .

Our public FSR meeting will take place in the summer semester 2026 during the lecture period on Mondays, 6 pm c.t. (6:15 pm). Participation is possible both in presence and via Webex . If you would like to participate as a guest, please write us a message beforehand so that we know.

During the semester break, we meet every two weeks.
