Please note the following points when planning the timing for the completion of your Bachelor's degree and the subsequent transition to the Master of Education:

• A prerequisite for enrollment in the Master of Education at the University of Siegen is the completion of your Bachelor's degree. The last study or examination achievement or Bachelor's thesis must have been completed in the semester preceding enrollment in the Master of Education.
• Students who obtain their Bachelor's degree at the University of Siegen can apply to transfer to the Master of Education via the unisono account during the re-registration phase. The relevant deadlines will be communicated by the Registrar's Office.
• Students who complete their Bachelor's degree at another university must apply for admission via the unisono application portal. You will be informed of these application deadlines in November (for Master's students starting in the summer semester) or in May (for Master's students starting in the winter semester). The current application deadlines can be found in the box below.
• If the degree has not yet been obtained during the re-registration phase or the application phase, enrollment is provisional. Proof of graduation must be submitted by 31 May at the latest for enrolment in the summer semester and by 30 November at the latest for enrolment in the winter semester. If proof of graduation cannot be provided after these deadlines, enrolment in the Master's program will be cancelled for internal graduates and de-registration for external applicants. Please note that proof of completion of the Bachelor's degree must be submitted earlier than May 31 or November 30 in order to register for the internship semester. Internal applicants: Students enrolled at the University of Siegen with a bachelor's degree in teaching can apply for a change (transfer) from 01.07.2026 to 30.09.2026 via the unisono account. It is not possible to apply via unisono. There are no admission restrictions. Proof of a Bachelor's degree from the University of Siegen is sufficient to transfer to the corresponding school type and subjects of the Master of Education. Students who are unable to provide proof of their Bachelor's degree or the relevant certificate by the end of September 2026 can still provisionally enrol for the Master's degree at the Registrar's Office until 30.09.2026. The last Bachelor's degree must be completed by 30.09.2026. Proof of the Bachelor's degree must then be submitted by 30.11.2026 at the latest. In this case, the University of Siegen will enrol students for the Bachelor's degree (re-registration) and the Master's degree in parallel until proof of the Bachelor's degree is provided. If the Bachelor's degree cannot be proven by 30.11.2026, the enrollment in the Master of Education will be canceled.

Note for students who have exmatriculated after completing their Bachelor's degree in teaching at the University of Siegen and wish to enrol in the Master of Education for the winter semester 2026/27: See information for external applicants.

External applicants: Bachelor's graduates from other universities, Bachelor's graduates from other degree programs (Fachbachelor) can register and apply from 01.04.2026 to 15.09.2026 via the unisono application portal
register and apply. This serves to check the admission requirements or the granting of any conditions by the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications. These applicants will receive a letter of admission from the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications, which must be submitted with the external Bachelor's degree when enrolling at the Registrar's Office. Applicants who are unable to provide proof of their Bachelor's degree or the relevant certificate by the end of September 2026 can still provisionally enrol in the Master of Education at the Registrar's Office on the basis of the letter of admission. The last Bachelor's degree must be completed by 30.09.2026. Proof of the Bachelor's degree must then be submitted by 30.11.2026 at the latest. If proof of the Bachelor's degree cannot be provided by 30.11.2026, enrolment in the Master of Education will be canceled. Admission of external applicants may be subject to conditions, which will be communicated with the letter of admission. The conditions must be fulfilled and proven within two semesters.
