Cooperation in the practical semester

The organization of the practical semester at the University of Siegen is the result of intensive cooperation between the University of Siegen, the centers for practical teacher training (ZfsL) Hagen, Lüdenscheid, Siegen and the schools in the training region. On the basis of the cooperation agreement of 19.9.2011 and the amended version of this cooperation agreement, the institutions involved in the training have
a concept for the organization of the internship semester, which is based on the common desire for intensive and institutionalized cooperation in order to establish a close relationship between school practice and academic support for the internship semester. The cooperation council constituted on this basis in 2011 is made up of elected representatives from the institutions involved in the training and students from the University of Siegen. The Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research (ZLB) sees itself as an initiator, contact point and companion in the field of cooperation and is therefore open to questions, suggestions and feedback on the initiated and planned activities.

Specialist networks

The so-called specialist networks contribute to the professional organization. Since 2012, teachers from the University of Siegen, subject leaders from the ZfsL and teachers have been working together in the subject networks with the common goal of providing a well-coordinated range of training courses for all subjects. The work of the subject networks is based on the framework concept for the practical semester
and the cooperation agreement. The results of the work of the subject networks are primarily incorporated into the formulation of the guidelines for the internship semester
and the subject-specific regulations for the internship semester.
