Prof. Werner Keck
Prof. Werner Keck passed away on 18.05.2023 in Siegen. The University of Siegen and the Faculty of Economic Disciplines, Business Information Systems and Business Law mourn with his family. Werner Keck was born on 06.12.1940 in Gleiwitz. After graduating from high school in 1960, he studied business administration at the University of Münster, where he graduated in May 1965 with a degree in business administration. From 1965 to 1971, he worked in various positions in industry, first at Klöckner Revisionsgesellschaft mbH in Duisburg, then at Industriekreditbank AG in Düsseldorf and finally at Philips Electrologica GmbH in Siegen. On April 1, 1971, he was employed as a teacher at the "Staatliche Höhere Wirtschaftsfachschule Siegen", the predecessor institution of today's Faculty III. On July 21, 1972, he was made a tenured professor at the "Fachhochschule Siegen-Gummersbach", which became part of the Gesamthochschule Siegen on August 1, 1972. He represented the subject of business administration, in particular finance. He was particularly interested in stock markets and how they worked. He was particularly interested in working with students in teaching. On April 8, 1974, he was awarded the title of "Professor". Finally, on June 30, 1982, he was appointed "Professor" at the university, which had now been transformed into the University of Siegen. Professor Werner Keck retired on October 31, 2004.
