Christmas lecture
with chemical experiments on 05.12.2025, 16:00, at the University of Siegen
Christmas is also a celebration of colors and light, which contribute significantly to the cozy atmosphere of the Advent season. And this festive world of colors is largely determined by chemical properties and processes that make the special magic of the Christmas season possible in the first place. This is why this year's Christmas Lecture at the University of Siegen, presented by Prof. Dr. Anna McConnell, Prof. Dr. Michael Schmittel and Prof. Dr. Heiko Ihmels, Organic Chemistry, is once again dedicated to curious experiments with impressive fire and light effects. The audience will be presented with a colorful Christmas laboratory and the underlying chemical principles will be clearly explained. The event is suitable for children aged 10 and over, teenagers and adults.
