Department of Architecture 2026 Annual Exhibition - Correspondences

The annual exhibition brings together diverse themes, scales, and approaches in architecture. Designs and models, research, experiments, and spatial interventions come together at the Druckhaus, showcasing the topics that students and faculty have explored over the past year.

The title “Correspondences” draws on the thinking of anthropologist Tim Ingold. For him, “correspondence” refers less to an exchange between already established positions than to a process in which relationships emerge through shared action and are constantly changing. Lines intersect, run together for a time, diverge from one another, and take on new directions.

For the exhibition, this concept is applied to architecture and to the development of the New School of Architecture at the University of Siegen. Connections, overlaps, and differences emerge between various fields of teaching and research; between design and research; between materials and construction; between buildings and the city; and between the university and society.

At the same time, the annual exhibition serves as a collective interim assessment of a department in transition. The former Druckhaus itself becomes part of this process: as a place where architecture is produced, tested, exhibited, and publicly discussed.

The exhibition opens on Thursday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. The AU:lecture will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is free. Interested parties from the university, the city, and the professional community are cordially invited.
