Between outpatient clinic and ward? We need to talk!
On June 25, the Siegen Forum will continue with a workshop discussion on healthcare in South Westphalia!
The transformations in the healthcare system, especially the increasing outpatient processes, digitally supported health-related services, but also the desire for a healthy lifestyle, pose new challenges not only for healthcare professionals, but for all citizens. We want to talk to you about what health education in South Westphalia could achieve and how it could be offered.

The event will be hosted by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Buchmann (University of Siegen and member of the Forum Siegen steering committee). She will be accompanied by colleagues from the newly founded Siegen Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research (ZIGS).
Forum Siegen: Lecture - Discussion - Exchange
The manifold problems of our time do not allow science to be practiced only in an academic ivory tower. Even if scientific research and enlightenment cannot conjure up patent remedies and concise instructions, they are able to shape many insights and decisions in all areas of society through methodical training, critical questions and conditional information.
Acting in difficult times increasingly requires reflection. The Siegen Forum therefore discusses problems and examines methods that are important for "practice" in politics, business and culture. Representatives of all scientific disciplines will have their say - and listen.
The framework theme "Medicine of the Future", which is also the theme of the Science Year 2026, forms the umbrella for a total of nine events. Exciting focal points from various disciplines will be brought into focus and the view broadened.
