Dr. Lena Seegers at the Forum Siegen
The Siegen Forum continues on July 2!
Every minute counts in the event of a heart attack. At the same time, medical diagnosis cannot be separated from gender-relevant aspects. This ranges from relevant risk factors to the symptoms that occur in each case - and results in a higher mortality rate for women with heart attacks. Dr. Lena Seegers heads Germany's first university "Women's Heart Outpatient Clinic" at the University Heart Center in Frankfurt and outlines this problem in her lecture.
She will be speaking on the topic "Gendering heart attacks? Why women die more often from heart attacks - and what can be done about it".
Forum Siegen: Lecture - Discussion - Exchange
The manifold problems of our time do not allow science to be practiced only in an academic ivory tower. Even if scientific research and enlightenment cannot conjure up patent remedies and concise instructions, they are able to shape many insights and decisions in all areas of society through methodical training, critical questions and conditional information.
Acting in difficult times increasingly requires reflection. The Siegen Forum therefore discusses problems and examines methods that are important for "practice" in politics, business and culture. Representatives of all scientific disciplines will have their say - and listen.
The framework theme "Medicine of the Future", which is also the theme of the Science Year 2026, forms the umbrella for a total of nine events. Exciting focal points from various disciplines will be brought into focus and the view broadened.
The complete program for the semester can be found here, registration is not necessary.
You are welcome to come to Forum Siegen with your friends!
