The winter semester at Forum Siegen kicks off on October 29! Prof. Dr. Bernhard Stahl from the University of Passau will be our guest speaker and will discuss Germany’s silence regarding mass crimes from the perspective of international relations. You are cordially invited to attend!
About the Lecture
Mass crimes rank among the most serious violations of international law. Although Germany has committed itself internationally to preventing and combating such crimes, the federal government often remains cautious, according to Prof. Dr. Bernhard Stahl. In his lecture, he analyzes this “loud silence” in light of current international conflicts and discusses the consequences of a foreign policy that largely refrains from assertive criticism. In doing so, he explores the question of what impact this stance has on the liberal international order.
