The e-Science Service team supports researchers in creating data management plans. To this end, the user-friendly RDMO (Research Data Management Organizer) tool is available, featuring customized questionnaires that allow users to quickly and easily create individualized plans.

What are data management plans?
A Data Management Plan (DMP) systematically describes how research data generated in projects will be handled. It documents the storage, cataloging, maintenance, and processing of the data.
A DMP is important for making data interpretable and reusable by third parties. Many third-party funding agencies (such as the DFG) require a DMP as part of a grant application for funding from specific funding lines.
Even before the project begins, it is important to clarify who is responsible for handling the data, including:
- What data will be generated and used in the project?
- What data must be archived after the project ends?
- How long should the data be archived?
- Who is responsible for tagging the data with metadata?

- They facilitate agreements on responsibilities and data exchange in collaborative projects
