Open Access publishing at the University of Siegen
Publishing in open access is widespread in the age of open science and is demanded by many research funders. However, this raises many questions for authors and editors: First or second publication in open access? Repository or publisher publication? What needs to be considered when choosing a license and what about the costs?
Using examples, various publication channels are presented and important issues are discussed: different ways of open access, selection criteria for journals and publishers, license selection, contract design, costs and financing options, etc.
The services offered for publishing at the University of Siegen will also be presented: the financial support provided by the Open Access Publication Fund and special conditions with publishers, the Open Access repository OPUS Siegen and the university publishing house universi.
