Three presentations at the ECP
Alexandra Zapko-Willmes, Anabel Büchner, and Karla Fliedner attended the 22nd European Conference on Personality, which took place in Edinburgh, Scotland, from July 21–24, 2026. Alexandra presented her work on value stability and life events from a genetically informed perspective. Anabel presented her project on comparing momentary and global self-reports for the assessment of dynamic conceptualizations of personality. Karla’s talk focused on the perception of romantic life events and personality change. In between the many interesting presentations, they had the opportunity to exchange ideas with international colleagues and round off their conference experience at the conference dinner.
About the Participants
As an Academic Advisor, Dr. Alexandra Zapko-Willmes researches the influences of individual social environments, life contexts, and life experiences on individual differences in broad personality traits and sociopolitical orientations (including political attitudes, values, conspiracy-mindedness).
Dr. Karla Fliedner investigates how people perceive everyday and formative life events and which factors influence this perception. She has been working as a research associate in the Department of Psychological Assessment and Differential Psychology for some time now.
Anabel Büchner is writing her dissertation on dynamic approaches to personality. She is a doctoral fellow at Humboldt University in Berlin and is advised by Kai Horstmann.
